Mary Portas has been and left her mark on Liskeard.  The town featured on the Channel 4 programme 'Mary, Queen of the High Street'.   Although the laid back attitude of the Cornish way of life may have challenged her high pressure way of working, the programme showed Liskeard in a positive light.

The Town Team work hard to spend the grant money well on rejuvenating the shopping streets and bringing fun to the town centre experience.  A new group Open Liskeard won nine seats on the Liskeard Town Council - the first contested elections for 12 years.

Lipsmacking Liskeard promote the fresh food that is available in the town's local shops, including the butcher, the fishmonger and the greengrocer.
Their produce is fresher than the out of town supermarkets and, in many cases, cheaper too !

We can vouch for the Shipwreck Pie and Road Kill Pie - delicious, both of them.

And Revitalise Liskeard have opened a brand new undercover Pannier Market on The Parade each weekday, offering an outlet for local producers with crafts, food, clothing, music and much more.  This is all great news for the town and the local economy.

There's lots going on in Lively Liskeard - and it's all just a short walk from Cider Cottage.

In Feb 2021 Keith and Karen Burden took ownership of Cider Cottage whilst Lynn and Peter the previous owners moved closer to the sea to explore and enjoy more of a coastal life.
Karen and Keith want to  keep up the very high standards set by the previous owners and very much look forward to welcoming guests again as soon as Government restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so.
Lynn and Peter Murnaghan moved from Winchester, Hampshire to Woodhill Manor in Summer 2011. We then spent a good deal of time and energy renovating Cider Cottage to create a fabulous self-catering holiday venue for discerning guests.
